Time for a Picnic

Hi everyone.  This is one of the cards I created weeks ago, when I got a lot of cards done.  I haven't had time to sit down and write up a post, but It's after 1:30 am here and I can't sleep as I took a long nap today and I mean LONG....!!
I went back to the doctor for my check up after my DNC and Tubal Ligation.  I can't go back to work till next Monday as I have not healed all the way yet and still have a lot of soreness and pains on the inside. Plus I still have a ton of Co2/air still inside my body that just won't seem to get out, making me miserable with bad shoulder and neck pains from all the air pushing on my diaphragm.
Anyway, I created this card using a Saturated Canary image called "Picnic Time".

I printed her out on Kraft CS and colored her with Prisma Color Pencils.

I used some Basic Grey .. Out of Print papers. I also used 2 different Ruffly lace, Martha Stewart Border Punch, Handmade lace flower, tiny flowers, Maya Road Stick Pins and a big flower embellishment in he center of the flower.

I do love my pencils but it does take a lot more time to color with them than my copics.  I also love the look you can achieve with your pencils on Kraft CS.  I have tired coloring on white CS and I just don't like the look of it as I can't find a white CS that is rough enough to hold and be able to add and blend all the colors I want to use.  If anyone has a good rough white CS that you use to color with your pencils I would love to know what you use.  I use Hobby Lobby's The paper Company Kraft CS as it is the roughest I can find and it hold a lot of lead and allows me to build up colors and blend well.

Well I am off as I have a lot to get done before the kids get up for school.  I also have a big meeting at school today for Jazmine and her progress she has made.  I the meeting will be her regular teacher, extra reading teacher, Guidance Counselor, School Psychologist, Special Education teacher and the Principal along with her Dad and I.  I am hoping this will be a good meeting and that she has made a huge progress in her learning. But I still fight with her ADHD daily as she is not on any meds. to help control it.

See you later, I will let you all know how her meeting goes.

Hugs:)
Angela

This is another lovely card, Angela... I love the look of pencils on Kraft too - but it is much more time consuming, so WORTH it in this case :-) I know exactly what you mean about the shoulder pain... I had those same "wingtip" pains after I had my hysterectomy - they are SO unpleasant, but they do ease up... hope yours go soon Donnaxx

You poor thing, hope everything sorts itself out soon. That wind in the chest is painful I had that after an op and it really smarts. Beautiful card even with everything you go through x

Amazing card and I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove your colouring, wowzer!!!
Hope you will be better soon, Hun. The physical pain will probably be over soon, but the lack in the heart will need more time to heal! I keep you all in my prayers, Sweetie, so sorry for you!
And I'm glad to hear that Jazmine is not on meds, I think it's an awful thing to do that to a child who has no chance to say no to meds. I don't judge ppl who see no other way than to handle the problem with meds, but I defenitely prefer the way with none...
Big hug, Alessandra

Hi Angela, I just stumbled upon your blog and had to have a look at older posts because I love your work!! :)
Anyway, just wanted to say that I have a 14 year old son who has ADHD and struggles a bit in school. It is so hard to get the help they need as everyone just labels kids with ADHD as "problem kids" which is so not fair! :( My son was diagnosed when he was 6 (although his teacher and I both knew before then) and he has been on 2 different meds (one of which was only for a week as he was so low with them that he wanted to seriously harm himself!), but he is on none now (not been on any for the last 2 years) and is so much better without them. He does find it difficult to concentrate on school work etc, but is generally well behaved which is much better than being on meds and feeling sick all the time!
Anyway, enough of my rambling! lol, just wanted to let you know that you are not alone :)
