A little sad news, I have stepped down

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to let you know that I have stepped down from 3 of my DT's. Things here are just getting to much to handle and with very little craft time.  I spend most of my night trying to teach and help my 7 yr old with her homework and classwork as she rarely gets it all done at school.  I believe she has ADHD as she can't sit still for anything and I just can't seem to keep her focused.  Her brother who is in the 5th grade has ADD and once the Dr. put him on Meds. he could focus and get all his work done at school.  His is a straight A student now and I am very proud of him.
Things are different now than it was 2 years ago when he started Vyvanse for his ADD as now you have to have the teacher write they think your child has ADHD or ADD just to be able to have your doctor try them on meds.  I'm sorry but I don't need a teacher to tell me what is or isn't wrong with my children.  I am around her all the time and have to fight every night to keep her attention and try to teach her what she is not understanding at school.  And believe me there are nights I want to scream and pull my hair out as she just doesn't get it.  It's just not soaking in her head and she's not retaining it.  It is kind of the same thing I went through with her brother.
He had a hard time reading until he started is meds., his teacher noticed a difference in him just after 2 days on them.  His little sister has the same problem with reading as her mind wonders and 100 different things are running through her mind all at the same time. My son had the exact same problem.
The only difference is my son has ADD and he is mellow and just looks as if he is always somewhere else (if he is not on his meds.) and Jazmine has more energy than I have ever seen in any child, she can't sit still for 2 minutes even if her life depended on it.
There are more reasons, this is just the one that is the hardest for me and takes away all my week nights.

Well I wanted to let you now why I haven't been around much.
Here are the 3 DT's I had to give up.  I have so enjoyed working on each an every one of them, but  my family has got to come first in my life and right now they need me the most.

Kenny K's Krafty Girlz
The Deconstructed Sketch
and
Forever Nights.

I am still staying on the following teams.

Sweet Pea Stamps
Tickled Pink Stamps
and Crafts and Me Stamps

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and a safe and Happy Halloween for those who celebrate it. We are going to my sisters as her small town really gets into it and make it a fun and safe place for the kids to just have fun trick or treating and playing all sorts of games.  They even shut down some of the roads in the town so cars can't drive where the kids are.  It's going to be fun.

Hi Angela~
Such a touching story, I just hope your kiddies get over this when they get alittle older..... But you are right the family does come first and that takes up alot of mommy's time too... I didn't realize that you were doing six DT teams wow that sure is alot.... I don't want to sound like a nerd but how does one become a DT? I'm interested in doing cards for someone that needs one since I have all the time in the world.....
Anywho everything will work out for your and the family......Just need to have alittle bit more patience and love & support is the main key...
hugs:)

Oh Angela, I am so sorry to hear you are having trouble with you little ones. My niece has ADHD and it makes a world of difference when she is on her meds. I remember when things first started coming out about ADD and ADHD, I thought too many people were just drugging their kids because they did not want to deal with them, but I know better now. I am sure that you know your daughter best and it is a shame that you have to go thru so many hoops just to get her checked out for ADHD. I am sending prayers and cyberhugs your direction. You must do what is best for you. To be honest, the DTs you stepped down from are ones I don't even follow so I am thrilled you will still be on TPS and Sweet Pea since those are the ones I love to see you create with, but if things get too rough, take care of you and yours first! Hugs!

I hope you get it straightened out quickly. I have seen a number of kids who, after just a moment, I can tell whether they're on or off meds that day. I'll miss seeing so many of your amazing creations, but you have to take care of home first...

Hi Angela, so sorry that you had to step down from some of the DT's, but I understand that family comes first. That's how it should be, right?
I wish you all the best and was very honoured to be on the KennyK DT with you!

Hi Hun! My heart goes out to you as two of my three children have ADHD and I know just how tough it can be especially when they are as young as yours. My two are now 13 and 15 and when they're on their meds they're no problem but without them I wanna run away lol. Keep your chin up it does get a little better. Sending you cyber hugs. If you need to chat with someone in the same boat, I'm here for you. Lotsa luv, hugs xxxxx

all of my children have moderate learning difficulties, one had ADHD, OCd, ADS and tourettes and another has ASD,OCD and ADD and dyspraxia and the youngest is type one diabetic...... It DOES get better as they get older..mine are all teens now and left school ( life is SO much easier when they are not a school!). Dan (ADHD0 used to take meds but I took him off them when he got older and although he still has it, he is able to calm him self and we have learned what foods or situations to avoid.
I agree family must come first - you will find more time for yourself as they get older - Do whatever you need to do to keep yourself stress free- we used to ask my mum to look after the kids once in a while so we could get away (VERY important!)
Anyway here is you need a moan or an ear xx
Have a great Halloween.xx

Hi Angela Sorry to hear that your having a tough time at the minute i understand what your going through as one of my grandsons have been diagnosed as autistic, i think they forget that a mother knows her children better that anyone else, anyway i hope things settle down a little for you soon hun and don't forget to take care of yourself too. I'm so pleased that your staying on at Crafts and Me DT. luv gina xx

Hi Angela Hunny. I definately think you are doing what is best for you and your family and it certainly sounds like you know what is up with your daughter having experienced it already with your son. My 2 nephews have ADHD and autism, it strikes me that it is much more commonplace than people realise.
I will miss seeing many of your stunning creations but am glad that you will still be creating some. I guess that creating is a little something for you when you have to work so hard with the children.
I hope things get better soon and the teachers will help you in getting what is best for your daughter.
Hugs Rebekah xx

Oh sweetie, it's hard to step down when your DT's are like family..... I was there the week before.

I don't know how you were able to handle it all - you are amazing. As for Jazmine..... definitely get her tested. And remember to stop, take a breath and take some minutes for you! Big hugs!
