Sweet Pea Stamps Card " Purple Comfort"/ and the crazy floods of Tennessee

Tonight I have a card to share that I created with one of my new images from ching chou kuiks fantasy art collection (plate #47) at Sweet Pea Stamps. Her name is "Purple Comfort", and I decided to color her in Fall colors. I have noticed for someone who is not an orange fan I have been using it a lot in my coloring. I know I live in Tennesse and orange is our Tennessee Vols color, but I am not a Tennessee Vols fan.
But I just love these colors together, so warm and comforting. So instead of being Purple comfort to me she is Fall comfort. And Fall is my favorite season along with Spring.

But Spring here in Tennessee the last 3 days has been crazy!!!!!!! We have had the worst flooding since 1926 or 1927. Downtown Nashville AKA Music City.. is underwater, all of Opryland Hotels 1st floor is under at least 3 to 9 feet of water. OpryMills, which is our big shopping Mall(it use to be Opryland Amusement Park) is also flooded. The damage here is just unbelieveable!!!!! We have hundreds upon hundreds of homes that look as if they are sitting in the middle a the lake. Between Saturday and Sunday we had at the least 14 inches of rain.
I live out in the country about 30 miles from Nashville. So living in the country has it's advantages. My house didn't ever come close to flooding, but the HUGE farm across the road from us got flooded but days. Thankfully all his cows are okay, but it was getting to where they almost had no where else to go to stay out of the flood waters. The kids have been out of school today and will be again tomorrrow. We even had 3 of out major Interstates to flood and one woman lost her life just by the floods on that Interstate. As of tonight we have had 15 people to loose their lives to this Historical Floods. Yes, this flood is one of the worst things to happen here in Middle Tennesse, but not just Middle Tennessee. Kentucky and Mississippi also had alot of flooding, but Tennessee was hit the worst.
Okay If you have stayed with me this long, THANK YOU!!! Just wanted to share the craziness of the past 3 days. We are in the Billons $$$$ of flooding damage.
Okay now on to my supplies list!!

Hi Angela! Your card is absolutely beautiful! Love the fall color scheme.
I used to live in Knoxville before I moved to FL a little over two years ago. Opryland Hotel and Opry Mills were always a favorite spot for me as I had to travel to the TennCare Bureau downtown a lot for business.
So sad...
I live where the oil slick is heading towards us. Already a lot of sea life are affected.
Take care and stay safe!

Hi Angela,

I was going to send you an e-mail this morning to make sure you were okay with all the flooding, but I checked your blog first and saw your update. I'm so glad you are doing okay and I'm so sorry for all that's happening with the flooding. I've been saying lots of prayers for everyone down there. Your card is gorgeous! I just posted a card with this image yesterday, but I must say, your coloring puts mine to shame :) I love how you see color, it's just amazing. I'm loving the new releases from Sweet Pea. My birthday is this coming Thursday and hubby said I could treat myself (although I probably would have anyway) :) Talk to you soon.
Hugs, Christine

Can you believe this flooding? I'm glad you're ok. We had very little water in my neighborhood but our school has been closed for 2 days now due to standing water in the school. we drove past Opryland late Sunday night-when we got the call about DH's dad-we had to take 3 alternate routes but the water was unbelievable. Even the pics they are showing on the news, you don;t really get it until you see it. IT's awful. Lots of prayers for our neighboring communities!

Your card is just gorgeous, Angela. Hugs!

This is so pretty Angela. Love the orange!

I am so glad you didn't have any flooding. Even though ours was no where near as bad as lots of other people got, it has done plenty of damage in our house. I don't know that I will ever get my craft stuff sorted again.

So glad that you and yours are OK. Was wondering. Of course, having admitted on your blog that you're not a Vols fan, you may be run out of town on a rail! Fan or not the orange looks great! Love the card.

Hi Angela. First let me say that I am glad to hear that your family is safe. How scary! We were watching on the new about the Grand old Opri....It is just sad. I feel so bad for the people that loose their homes in it all. If there is anything that we can do you let us know. If you hear of anyone that needs anything. I don't what I could do from here, but you just never know. Ok, as for your card. OMG...You just have so much talent. I love, love the colors that you have use, and the whole thing is just wonderful! The green swirls, are those made from white wrapped floral wire? I really just love that look. Hugs, and stay safe Lisa
