Saturated Canary Challenge, Pink, Red and White

Hi everyone. Today is my first Challenge over at Saturated Canary Challenges as a Guest Design Team Member. I am so excited as I just love working with Krista's images. This week we are challenged to use

Pink, Red and White

How easy is that with Valentine's Day coming up soon.

I used "Becki" which is the Twin of Belle, by Krista Smith at Saturated Canary and you can get them as a set. HERE.

I used some Valentine's paper by The Paper Studio that I got at Hobby Lobby.

I added a felt heart and some little chipboard hearts from Colorbok.

Here is a close up of "Becki" colored with copics

I used some dies from a Big Spellbinder set. I still need to I buy the big machine as I can't use 2 of the dies in the set with my Big Shot.

I added some pretty white ribbon and a bow. I added a piece of chipboard on top of the bow with foam tape and some Wild Orchid Crafts Long Stem roses.(oh and I added some Maya Road little heart pins)

I distress all the papers with a distressing tool and went over with some Black Soot Distressing Ink.

I added dimension to the image and the chipboard pieces with foam tape.(I love that stuff), it just gives you cards that extra 3D look and makes them more interesting.(well at least for me they do)

Crafts and Me Challenge's, Brighten up your Day

Hi all you Crafts and me fans. Thank you to everyone that joined our last challenge I hope you join us again this week. Amy has set the challenge for this week.

She thought I would be great to see bright colours to brighten up the day :D

We have a great prize for you from Crafts and me of 3 Digi's of the winners choice

I used "Glacier Lily Fairy" by Hannah Lynn available at Crafts and Me Stamps.

You will have to forgive my coloring on this one as I colored it as fast as I could as I was running late with the challenge. With trying to teach Jazmine every night it takes up most of my nights. But I am glad to report her grades this week have been really good. She brought a whole lot of papers home Monday to RE-DO, and a lot if them. We redid all of them and she understood it all. All the papers she brought home today that was classwork she did in class she made 100's and the lowest grade was a 90B. So I am so proud of her. Just wanted to share in her /our progress.

I used some Basic Grey 6X6 papers from the Indie Bloom pack. I added some spring flowers from some garland I brought at Michael's Craft store. The big pink flower is from Michael's by Recollections(their brand). I used an EKSuccess border punch.

The image was colored with copics.

Daisy Fairy

Hi Everyone. Sorry, I haven't been around to your blogs lately. I have been so busy with Jazmine every night. I went last Friday after work to The Teach a Child store.. a parent/teacher store and picked up a lot of stuff to help me teach Jazmine at home. I just hope this helps her in school. I hope to make all my rounds by this weekend.

Hi ! Today I wanted to share with you a card that I made with this gorgeous image by ching-chou kuiks available at Sweet Pea Stamps.

I thought she would look great as a Valentine card. The name of this image is "Poppy, from the Mist" and she can be found on Sheet #41, Plate #199.

I used some Recollections DP from Michael's. I love this paper, it is printed on kraft paper.

Victorian Steampunk and a Update on Jazmine

Hi everyone. I am getting ready to head to bed as I have had a very long day. I met with Jazmine's teacher's today. Her classroom teacher, her extra reading teacher, her two teacher's that are testing her for learning difficulties and the psychological at school. She is still having a hard time with her school work and remembering what she is learning. She also can't keep still at school either. She is not a problem child at school she just has way to much energy to keep still.

Her classroom teacher really wants to hold her back and let her do 2nd grade over again, but her father and I are not for it at all. She is not getting any tutoring at school, which even still today they did not offer. It kind of bothers me that they haven't knowing they have the resources to do so, hello it it a school and they tutor kids all the time. At this point I am about to hire one myself to help her. It is so hard to work a FULL time job and teach her everything she is being taught at school. It really bothers me that I have told them that I know she has ADHD and until they write up a list of everything they have tested her on and her progress I can't let her Dr. know how she is doing in school and what she is being tested on. Until then we can't even try meds. because he wants to make sure she gets the right meds. for her. Here it is the end of January and this has been going on since October. They started testing her for Learning disabilities in November and she has made very little progress.

Until today as I was talking to the 2 teachers who are testing her for her difficulties about her brother having ADD and ADD and ADHD running in both sides of our family..did they think that may be a big factor in her not making much progress. Which brother's me even more as I have told her teachers that I think she has ADHD. From the time she gets up in the morning till she finally goes to sleep.. NO LIE.. she is like popping popcorn on a stove with not lid on it and popcorn popping everywhere. She has that much energy. She is always bouncing off walls and if she could she would climb the ceilings.. only if she could, which isn't possible.

How can one teacher not think that if a child has no self control over her physical movements that her brain is not doing the same thing. There is no way in the world that a child with that much energy is calm in her brain and listening and learning to what is being taught and said.

Jazmine was walking at 10 months and talking in complete sentences at only a year old. Yes, I am honest. She has always learned things so much earlier than most kids, but now that she is in school it is a totally different story. We started seeing signs of ADHD around the age of 1, with all her energy. But we just chalked it up to being a baby and full of energy, but as she gets older it has only gotten worse. She also has a terrible temper.. yes a bad one and she is 7 and knows better. I just hope whatever happens that we all do what is best for her and try our hardest to keep her on track and do whatever we need to do to help her progress in learning.

I tried to explain to her classroom teacher today that if in FACT she has ADHD that holding her back and making her repeat 2nd grade is not going to make her improve as it is a chemical imbalance.

Ok enough about today's adventure, but I will try to keep all of you posted that has asked about her and her progress. And I am sorry that I am just letting you know something, but until today I had no information to give to you.

Here is a card that I made a few weeks ago and have had the image saved as a draft to share with you. I do still have more to share with you from this same crafty weekend when I created this one.

I used a Simply Betty image that was only available in digi form for a very short time. I think you many be able to get this one and some of the others in rubber only now.

I LOVE this image and I think it is perfect for a manly card.

Okay it's after 12:30am and I have to get up a 5am to get ready for work, so I am off to get some sleep.

First Snow

Hi Everyone! It's Angela here and it's my turn to share with you today my newest Crafts and Me Stamps creation. Today I have a card using one of Zindy Nielsen's images called "First Snow". Sorry my pic's are so bright but with that bright pinks and the way my lamp hit's it, it is so bright. I tried taking out the contrast but then the image lost most of it's true color. The image is bright in real life.. I used copic colors RV29, RV25,RV04.RV02, RV19, I think that was all the colors I used on her coat.

I used some older Basic Grey Christmas/Winter paper, Wild Orchid Crafts Roses, Pearl pins, Spellbinder die and Sizzix Corner dies, thick lace doily, Proverbs saying, wide ribbon, and a gold and pearl center button.

OH So Sweet Saturated Canary.. Canary Love

I guess by now most of you know.......... I made the Saturated Canary Guest Design Team for the next 3 months!!!!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!!! I truly love Krista Smith's sweet adorable images. This is Canary Love and Krista is giving her away on her personal blog to all her followers and those you are signed up for her Newsletter. Don't worry you can still become a follower and sign up for her new letter HERE. please read her blog to see just how you can get her for yourself. This is a little Valentine's gift from Krista.

I printed her out thinking I was going to make a card, but then decided to print her bigger and make her into a Journal book. I love making Journal books and all my friends , oh and Jazmine my youngest daughter love's getting them. I had to fight, well not really with Jazmine as she wanted this for herself. I had to break her heart when I told her no that it was for Allyson.. one of my dear friends. Her birthday was Sunday and I am way behind making her gifts and shopping for her presents. With Destiny's 18th birthday being this past Friday, I didn't do any shopping. Not even for her yet, but I will probably just give her money to go on a new pair of Buckle jeans. She loves that brand, but they are way too expensive for me at $85 to $120 a pair. So I guess I will pay for one leg of them.lol

I just used a comp. notebook and cover it with some K&Company paper. I know I used pastel colors, not something I use often, but I really thought this sweet little girl needed to be in pastels. I distressed the edged of the papers and added some distressing ink in Tea Dye. I cut her out using a Creative Memories Heart shape cutter. The image was stamped on Mohawk Color Copy 98 100 lb bright white , Extra Smooth Cover Card Stock and you can find it HERE. It's a lot cheaper than most papers and I LOVE IT. It is what I use all the time. I tried the Copic Xpress-It paper and for the way I color I don't like it. I have been using this paper(the Mohawk) for over a year now and I have tried all kinds of paper and this is my favorite.

A lot of people ask me what I use, so I wanted to share it with all of you.

I added some Wild Orchid Crafts Roses. The pink center flower is by Recollections at Michael's Crafts. I added some white trim and inked it with some Tea Rose Distressing Inks

I also added a big Making Memories Chipboard letter A and had to sit this cute little butterfly on the A.

I finished it off with some BIG pink ribbon. I have a HUGE spool of this stuff.

I colored Canary Love with Copics and then used Chalk on the background.

Vintage Steampunk Fairy

Hi everyone. I hope you are having a great week. Today I have a card to share with you using one of Teresa Sherman's images called "Steampunk Fairy". You can find her on Sheet #1, Plate #168 or you can purchase her as a single stamp.

I absolutely love this image and believe it or not this is the first time I have even inked her up. I don't know why it has taken me so long to ink her up.

I used some Recollections paper from Micheal's called "Love Letters" and the main paper is all printed on Kraft paper. I also add a small piece of Basic Grey paper with the postage images on it.

The let me Count the way paper piece is from the same Recollections paper pack.

3 Saturated Canary cards and a GDT call

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. We went out today to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday. She is out now with her boyfriend and the kids are at my sisters so I had time to play tonight.

I have 3 cards to share with you using 3 of Krista Smith's NEW Digi's from Saturated Canary.

She is also having a Guest Design Team CALL for a 3 months spot to join her Saturated Canary girls.

I LOVE Krista's images and own all of them, so I decided to go for it, even though today is the last day.

I have so much fun creating with her adorable images and my 7 yr old loves them too and she always has to color and make cards with mommy. I have a ton colored just need to find more time to create with them all. hee,hee

Oh I am also entering my card/cards into the Saturated Canary Challenge this week which is to "Dies and Punches"

This first one is called "Elphie" A Ragamuffin. Isn't she just the cutest?

I used some Crate Paper 6x6 papers from the 'Emma's Shoppe Collection. I punched 2 different borders on the side of the image added a little tag that I distressed with distressing inks and added some Raffia to the tag hole. I added some Wild Orchid Crafts rose and some more raffia to finish off the flower arrangement. I think the raffia looks great with this image and her little broom.

This is another one of her New digi's and her name is "Jenny". I used some Cosmo Cricket 6x6 paper from the Odds & Ends pack . I also add a punched border and used 2 different Spellbinder dies to create my background that little miss Jenny is adhered to. I distressing the edges and added a big Recollections pink flower and the little rose buds are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Here is the last one called " The Scarecrow" A Ragamuffin. She has a whole line of characters from the Wizard of Oz.. love, love, love them.

I used some Authenique paper from the "Blissful" 6x6 pack. I added some raffia behind the square to mimic the straw stuffing of the sweet little scarecrow. I added some Fancy Pants buttons that I adhered on a punched circle and tied with some twine.

All images were colored with copics and if I get time I will come back and edit to add the colors I used on all 3 of these sweet images. I about 45 minutes before the cut off of the Guess DT call.

I hope you have a great rest of your weekend. I will be busy making cards and trying to clean up my messy craft space. I had it clean yesterday and now today it looks as if a tornado has ran through it.

Oh her is a new pic of my daughter Destiny and her boyfriend of over 2 yrs Christian. I took it with his phone so it's not a great quality pic but I so love this picture of them together. So sweet.

My Baby Girls 18 today!! Oh No!!

Hi Everyone. Today is a SAD day for me as my oldest daughter Destiny is 18 today. Oh My Gosh where has the time gone. Not only did she turn 18 today she also got her acceptance letter to MTS (Middle Tennessee University). Not too much longer and she be college bound. But I do think she will live a home the for the first year of College, at least I hope so.

I wanted.. since she is 18 today.. to make her a birthday card that reminded me of what she use to look like when she was my LITTLE girl. Not that she's not now.. she's just not little anymore. She all grown up now. teas, tears and more tears.. But this picture looks jsut like she did when she was 2 and 3. She has the curliest little blond hair and she even had that cute little round belly.

I used this oh so sweet and adorable Mo Manning digi called "Winter Fairy Talva". She was born during 17" of snow(in Kentucky) so she is my Winter baby and I wanted my card to showcase that.

I used some Bo Bunny Winter papers, some beautiful white trim, Big glittery foam snowflake, Pearl stick pin, aqua Maya Road Leaf pins,Wild Orchid Crafts roses and Dollie.

I also used my sewing machine so that means I can enter this in this weeks Mo Manning Challenge.

I added glitter to her big fuzzy head/ear muffs, her fuzzy leg warmers, snow and on her wings. I also added glitter glue to the flowers too.

You can see that the BIG Aqua flower use to be darker so I lighted it up with glitter glue and MS fine glitter.

Oh and the sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

Lil Greek Gods Lolita Aphrodite Willow

I hope you have loved our new Lil Lolita'a and Lad's. I have really enjoyed creating with each and every one of them.

This is Lil Greek Gods Lolita Aphrodite Willow.

Aphrodite is the goddesses of Love. When Aphrodite was born she just rose out of the sea in a cloud of foam. When she walks on grass the flowers spring up. She is also known as the goddesses of beauty and desire. She is known to be the most beautiful goddess in Olympia. Aphrodite was beautiful and she was kind, but sometimes she wanted revenge. Liked by all the gods and mortals, Aphrodite's beauty usually made others jealous.

Isn't he is handsome?

The Greek God Apollo was the Lord of the Sun. Every day, in the myth, he is said to drive his Chariot across the sky, filling the world with light. Apollo was the Greek God of prophecy, music, medicine (and ironically the plague), art, poetry, craft, and archery.

I decided to make him into a Valentine's card, but went with NON traditional Valentine colors.

Supremely gifted minstrel who attempted to rescue his dead wife from the Underworld. Orpheus had been taught to play the lyre by Apollo, and such was his skill on the instrument, together with the sweetness of his singing voice, that he could charm wild animals and even cause trees to uproot themselves and follow in his steps.

I used some My Minds Eye DP, Tim Holtz Sizzix Bird Cage Die, Beads, butterfly charm, Sizzix die, EKSuccess border punch, Wild Orchid Crafts roses, Glittle Glue, Wild Honey Distressing ink, Gold Versa Mark ink, White crackle paint, Pearl stick pens and Distressing tool.

Saturated Canary Vintage Valentine

Hi Everyone. Today I wanted to share with you this cute little Valentine I created using a cute little down Krista Smith from Saturated Canary had on her blog as a free download from Christmas.

I printed the sheet out on Kraft paper and colored these 3 cute images with Prisma pencils.

I went around the edges of the paper with a distressing tool and then inked it with Distressing ink in Vintage Photo.

I added some old K&Company word stickers to cover up the the words Merry Little Christmas that were on the bottom of each image.

I added some lace to both ends of the card using my hot glue gun.

I added some Heidi Grace heart Chipboard and some twine to create a bow around the heart.

This is a Tri fold card. I really love it turned out and I knew as so as I saw the little hearts on her shirt that I wanted to make her into a Valentine's card.

I used a Sakura white Gel Pen to add the freckles to her cheeks and the whiten the spots of her eyes.

I have been using my Prisma pencils a lot her lately and I love them. My next adventure is to try them on white paper and for that I can use my cheap Georgia Pacific CS as the rougher the paper the better when it comes to pencils. It help pick up the colors better and blends a lot better as I only use pencils alone to blend my colors NO Blender pencils or OMS.

Prismacolor Pencils and Sweet Pea Stamps

Hi everyone. I hope you are having a wonderful day. Today I would like to share with you 2 cards that I created using 2 of Karen Middleton's portrait images. Well this is my first time coloring Sweet Pea Stamps images with my Prismacolor pencils and I am sooooo pleased with how they came out.

This first one I used the image called "Pixie" and she can be purchased as a single of on Sheet #18, Plate #194. I used some Six By Six paper by My Minds Eye called "Honey Cake".

I colored her with Prismacolor pencils. I also added some Wild Orchid Crafts roses, pearl wedding embellishments, distressing tool and distressing ink in Stained Walnut.

For my second one I used another Karen Middleton stamp called "Tara" and she can be found on the same sheet.

I colored her with Prismacolor pencils on Kraft paper too. I used some Basic Grey paper from the "Marjolaine" line. I added some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, Sizzix Leafy Flourish die that I cut into pieces. I also used a Spellbinder Nestie Die for the image and added some blue rhinestones. I also went around the edges of the paper with Distressing ink in Crushed Olive.

Well I hope you like these and that I tried to create something a little different.

Today we are bringing you LIL GREEK GODS LOLITA ARTEMIS..... The daughter of Leto and Zeus, and the twin of Apollo. Artemis is the goddess of the wilderness, the hunt and wild animals, and fertility (she became a goddess of fertility and childbirth mainly in cities). She was often depicted with the crescent of the moon above her forehead and was sometimes identified with Selene (goddess of the moon)....

Make It Colorful "Blades of Grass" Challenge

Hi everyone, today Ia m a guest over at Make it Colorful . I was so excited to purchase this new fairy images and the new scene digi's. I love them. I knew I wanted to use as much of the fairies as I could and in turn I would have to create something big so I would be able to color them and still be able to show all their details.

This weeks challenge is to "Create Blades of Grass".

I create this beautiful 12x12 Wall Hanger for my youngest daughter Jazmine. She loves it and can't wait for me to hang it on her all.

Here are the Make it Crafty digital images I used to create this scene. All images are from the New Fairy and Elven Collection and the Fairy Garden Collection.

Elven Ardella, Fairy Celandine, Fairy Dahlia, and the background Digi Toadstool Garden .

I used a 12x12 Shadowbox that I painted off white. I added some DCWV pattern paper to the inside of the box, trim it with ribbon, added some butterflies in each opposite corner that I covered in Martha Stewart glitter because the color of the butterflies as too dark. I needed to lighten them up some. I added some floral craft glitter twigs, some ice looking twigs

I adhered the image with foam tape and covered it to make a frame with a big Technique Tuesday Chipboard Frame, that I painted and sponged Tattered Angels Glimmer mist on in Teal and then covered with clear glitter glue and added some Martha Stewart think glittery snow flecks.

And the last thing.. was some Webster Pages round aqua glitter flake stones.

I colored the whole image with copics and a lot of them.

I created my grass blades with different green colored copics.

Lady in Green

Hi everyone. Today I have another card to share with you. I think I have got my Mojo back. I think with all I had going on last year and then Thanksgiving and Christmas.. I was just not really in the crafting mood the last 3 months of 2011.

I have created so many cards this weekend and I will be sharing them with you this week. I even made it to most of my favorite blogs and left some love. I do still have more to stop by this week, but it is a big improvement from the last 3 or 4 months.

Today I have a card to share with you using a digi from Simply Betty Stamps, that was only available as a digi for a very short time. But if you love her as much as I do she is taken some pre-orders on some full sheets of rubber that she is having made up.

My favorite color is green so I really love how this card turned out. I used some Basic Grey 6x6 "Curio" paper, I love this stack of paper.

I also used my distressing tool to distress the paper. I used my Cricut fancy frames cartridge, Spellbinders border die, Green lacy trim, green flower and a floral sprig that I got at Michael's Crafts Store. I added a gold with a pearl center button and I stamped a spiderweb in the right corner.

My second post today

I have another card to share with you today. This is one of the cards I never finished for Christmas, so I now have 1 completed for next Christmas. I colored this cute little elf boy by Krista Smith from Saturated Canary with Prismacolor Pencils on kraft CS. His name is Spritz, A baby Christmas Elf. I really love using kraft CS and my coloring pencils.

I used some Christmas/Winter Prima paper, Candycane K&Company border strip, EKSucess Snowflake border punch, 2 different ribbons, Cricut Snowflakes cartridge, Martha Stewart snowflake punches. I top it off with some glitter glue and some blue rhinestones to the big snowflake.

Here's one last look of the sweet little boy elf. I just love him and his big eyes, little round cheeks and that cute little round belly. So precious.

I can see that a lot of my followers and blogs that I follow are addicted to her sweet line of digi's too. Her images are some of my favorites.

How many of you have tried using coloring pencils on kraft and are addicted to it too? It is my next favorite coloring medium after my copics.

For my Princess

Today I have a little project I made just for fun. I created this little album for my daughter Jazmine. She even help pick out some of the things I added to her album and she inked the edges of the papers. She wanted to help her mommy make something.

I used my new Basic Grey album die by Sizzix that I just purchased at Joann's for 70 % off, it was $49.95 and I got it for $14.95. It has on the die and album page, flowers in 2 sizes( I used the flower die). the label die that I added to some of the pages, and a heart die, all on one BIG long die. It also came with to embossing folders, but I didn't use it on this . I used one of my Tim Holtz Alterations Embossing folders instead. I got the die so cheap because it was a Christmas die and was marked down 70% off.

I used this sweet digi image by Saturated Canary called " Whispy, a Fairy". I just love all of Krista Smith's sweet images and I think I now have all of them.

Here are the insides of the pages and all they need now is some pictures of my sweet girl Jazmine and maybe some extra embellishments to finish it off after the pictures are added.

I tied the pages together with some rope twine that you can get in any hardware store or Jewelry store. It's a

lot cheaper than the one in the scrapbooking craft area. I also used some Echo Park paper called "Victorian Garden" and some light and dark pink Card Stock. I also added some Distressing ink in "Tea Dye" around the edges and on some of the embossed parts to age it. I also distressed it with a distressing tool by Making Memories.

Here is a pic to show some of the sparkle from the glitter glue I added to her, the Spellbinder crown and to the flowers. The rose in the middle is from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Today I have 2 cards to share with you. This first one I decided to make a Spring card. I used 2 different stamps , The frame is an image by Joanne Schempp and can be found on Sheet #8, Plate #165. The main image I used an image by Rachel Anderson called "Forget Me Not" and she can be bought as a single or on Sheet #3, Plate #173.

I used some Prima Paper, added to different ribbons , then added a butterfly by Recollections to the top of the bow. I also added some glitter to some of the areas of the image.

Hi everyone. First of all I would like to thank each and every one of you who stop by my blog to see my latest creations. And most of all the ones who always leave me the sweetest comments. This second half of this year has been tough on me and I can't ever seem to get caught up and you are the ones who suffer from it. I wish I had more time to leave everyone comments, but know that I do love seeing your creations each and every day.

You are the ones that keep me creating. It just feels like that is the only time I have any more.. rush to create and post then my day is over.

I have so many cards that I have started and never go time to finish or mail this year.

I used a Mo Manning image called "Sticky" .. I LOVE this little sweet Elf boy. He is sooooo cute.

This card went to my friend Fred at work.

Fred is the one who has helped me this year with trying to eat right to keep my stomach and digestive system healthy. He has been a blessing to me. I have slacked here lately and I have paid for it. So starting in the New Year I will be back to eating healthier so I don't get sick again.

He loved this little elf when he saw me coloring it at work, so he had to go on his Christmas card.

Off to wrap presents, if I can keep the kids from killing each other. They just fell into my Christmas tree for the 20th time or more already this year. I think this is my Christmas tree's last year and they have damaged it badly. Kids.. Do any of you have the same problem with your kids???
I hope I am not the only one, but then again I don't wish it on anyone.

This first one is a digi by artist Hannah Lynn called "Runaway Princess". This image has so much in it that I probably forgot to color something, but regardless I am happy with it anyway.

Hi everyone. This has been one busy weekend. It's 10 pm and we just got back from the grocery store. I wanted to jump on here before I go to bed and share with you this card I made for one of my good friends. She wanted me to make a card for her daughter's 12th birthday. I used a gorgeous digi image from Funky Kits.

Sweet Pea cards to share

Today I have 3 cards to share with you all using stamps from Sweet Pea Stamps.

This is one of 3 new images that are available for order now at the store. I used "Party Play" by Elisabeth Bell for my card and make her into a Christmas image.

I used some design papers from Echo Park. The border strip is from K&Company and I added some paper poinsettia's with same Basic Grey brads that I covered with glitter glue.

I hope this little cutie will get you in the Christmas mood.

And for my last one I used and image by Anna Marine Called "Little Blue Shoes" and she can be found on Sheet #5, Plate #196. I used some Echo Park papers.

All images were colored with copics.

Into the World

Hi everyone. It's my turn to post and show you what I have created. This will be a fast post as I am just now finishing helping my kids with their homework. My youngest is really struggling and she has gotten so far behind that has so much work to redo and finish that I could make a book out of it. I am sorry I have been MIA here lately, but she has been taking up all my time. I work full time then come home and I have to be a teacher, well that is what it feels like as that's all I do anymore. For all of you who have asked and I haven't gotten around to reply back to you.. they have started testing her at school for learning disabilities. Her teacher told me she has 25 different steps to go through. I will be happy when it is done as I am going crazy here and I feel so bad for her.

Enough about me, let me get to my creations I have to share with you.

This first one is the card I made from my Mom for her birthday. I love this image and wanted to make a card a little different than I normally do as this card measures 9 x 4.5. I even sewed on it, something I don't do that often. I used a digi image for this one called "Into The Word" by Sara Burrier and you can find herHERE.

Look what happened yesterday

Hi everyone. I am sorry for being so MIA this week. Between Dr. appointments, homework and everything else, I haven't had any extra time.

Then yesterday morning I got a call from my husband and daughter. Destiny has a wreck on the way to school. The roads were wet and she tried to slow down and then slam on her brakes and her tires would not grip the road and she slid into the back of a Toyota truck waiting for the traffic to clear so her could turn left into his driveway. He had a huge hitch attached to his bumper and that was what did all the damage to her car.

She had her seatbelt on and her airbag did not deploy. She was going 50 miles an hour when she first started slow down as she had enough time to stop the card but with the slick roads from the rain and her tires not in the best shape, it just would not stop. Her head slammed into the top of the windshield and she was having bad head and neck pains, so she was taking to the hospital in the Ambulance. My husband got there as they where getting her on the stretcher. My husband cried so much yesterday and had me freaked out before I could get to her at the hospital.

She was still in a lot of pain when she arrived at the hospital, and I was there waiting for her.

They ran X-rays and performed a CT scan on her. We are so lucky that she is okay and only had a few small bruises on her.

Here is a picture of her car.

It is Totaled as it would cost way too much to fix it than what it is worth. She is so upset as this has taken her freedom away and she now has to wait on someone to take her somewhere.

But like I told her the most important thing is that she is okay and the car can be replaced.

But just not as fast as she would like it to be.

I am going to try to get around this weekend and visit all of your blogs, well I hope to anyway. I am running off her now as the kids are ready for me to cook breakfast for them.

Hi Everyone, I hope you are having a great day. I know this time of the year days start flying by even faster than normal, not that the days and years already go by way too fast. Today I have 4 cards to share with you. The first 2 are images from our artist Teresa Sherman. For the first one I used "Kissing Butterflies", sheet #3, Plate #192.

For this one I used "Tattoos and Feathers" and she can be found on the same sheet.

For my 3rd card I used and image by Valarie Wade called "Snow Bunnies" and she can be found on sheet #2, Plate #191.

For my last one I made a Halloween card using one of the newest images by our artist Elaine Cox called "Willabelle", and she can only be bought as a single.

I used a mixture of Basic Grey's eek papers, this years Martha Stewart Halloween and Micheal's Recollection

Halloween embellishments.

I colored her with copics and used Twinkling H2o's to paint in the background.

A call from Jazmine's Teacher and some research

This morning I received a call from Jazmine's 2nd grade teacher.

She informed me that Jazmine is struggling at school and is not improving in any of her subjects. She told me she thinks she has a learning disability. I reminded her of the conversation I had with her at our Parent and Teacher Conference that I thought she had ADHD( whenshe told me she did not think she ADHD, but that she was just not getting it).

I know my children better than anyone and know she struggles the same way Bailey did when he was in her class in the 3rd grade. The only difference between Bailey and Jazmine is that Bailey is not Hyperactive. When I would try to teach him at home he would keep telling me that he just didn't get it , that he didn't understand and he would go off in space and then star crying like a baby none stop. To where Jazmine is hyperactive and can't sit still or anything. She so unorganized in everything she does.

Anyway here are some of the symptoms I found and she has ALL OF THEM.

Symptoms

What are the symptoms of ADHD?

The person with ADHD who is inattentive will have 6 or more of the following symptoms:

Has difficulty following instructions
Has difficulty keeping attention on work or play activities at school, work and home
Loses things needed for activities at school, work and home
Appears not to listen
Doesn't pay close attention to details
Seems disorganized
Has trouble with tasks that require planning ahead
Forgets things
Is easily distracted

The person with ADHD who is hyperactive/impulsive will have at least 6 of the following symptoms:

Fidgety
Runs or climbs inappropriately
Can't play quietly
Blurts out answers
Interrupts people
Can't stay in seat
Talks too much
Is always on the go
Has trouble waiting his or her turn

What causes ADHD?

People who have ADHD do not make enough chemicals in key areas in the brain that are responsible for organizing thought. Without enough of these chemicals, the organizing centers of the brain don't work well. This causes the symptoms in people who have ADHD. Research shows that ADHD is more common in people who have close relatives with the disorder. Recent research also links smoking and other substance abuse during pregnancy to ADHD. Exposure to environmental toxins, such as lead, can also be a factor.

I am not a doctor but I know my children better than anyone and other than ADHD I really don't think she has a learning disability.

I made her a Doctor's appointment for next Tuesday afternoon to see what he says.

Her Teacher wants to her her tested for learning Disabilities and I am fine with that. I think she should be tested, but I also know that if she in fact has ADHD and if she is not medicated that testing her is not going to tell them anything as ADHD is a Chemical imbalance and testing her on her learning skills is not going to give the true answers as to what and why she is struggling. She not only struggles in school she struggles in everything she does or tries to do.

With already having a child with ADD I already know the signs with school work to the simplest task.

I am sorry for posting about all of this but I know from my last post that my children are not the only children out there with these same issues. I know that once my son started his meds. all his problems where GONE and he did a complete 160 in school and he was like a totally different child. He, as his Teacher told me, Soared in school and all this classes and subjects.

I am just hoping that everything goes good Tuesday and we can start giving her what her brain needs and is lacking so she too can soar in school and not struggle so hard which in turn will take a lot of stress off me and our family and lets not forget little Jazmine herself.

I never believed in giving my kids meds. but there has to come a time when you have to realize you have done all you can do and it';s also not their fault they it.

I will keep all of you updated on what we find out and if she starts to improve. Fingers crossed and a little prayer to go with it.

A little sad news, I have stepped down

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to let you know that I have stepped down from 3 of my DT's. Things here are just getting to much to handle and with very little craft time. I spend most of my night trying to teach and help my 7 yr old with her homework and classwork as she rarely gets it all done at school. I believe she has ADHD as she can't sit still for anything and I just can't seem to keep her focused. Her brother who is in the 5th grade has ADD and once the Dr. put him on Meds. he could focus and get all his work done at school. His is a straight A student now and I am very proud of him.

Things are different now than it was 2 years ago when he started Vyvanse for his ADD as now you have to have the teacher write they think your child has ADHD or ADD just to be able to have your doctor try them on meds. I'm sorry but I don't need a teacher to tell me what is or isn't wrong with my children. I am around her all the time and have to fight every night to keep her attention and try to teach her what she is not understanding at school. And believe me there are nights I want to scream and pull my hair out as she just doesn't get it. It's just not soaking in her head and she's not retaining it. It is kind of the same thing I went through with her brother.

He had a hard time reading until he started is meds., his teacher noticed a difference in him just after 2 days on them. His little sister has the same problem with reading as her mind wonders and 100 different things are running through her mind all at the same time. My son had the exact same problem.

The only difference is my son has ADD and he is mellow and just looks as if he is always somewhere else (if he is not on his meds.) and Jazmine has more energy than I have ever seen in any child, she can't sit still for 2 minutes even if her life depended on it.

There are more reasons, this is just the one that is the hardest for me and takes away all my week nights.

Well I wanted to let you now why I haven't been around much.

Here are the 3 DT's I had to give up. I have so enjoyed working on each an every one of them, but my family has got to come first in my life and right now they need me the most.

Today I have 2 new stamps/images to share with you from Elisabeth Bell. This first one is called "Beach Ball". I colored her in with copics and then created a beach background for her to sit on. I used some American Crafts DP and just a small piece from a Summer DCWV pack. I added a sun tag to the top and some Basic Grey brads to the bottom.

This one is called "Fashionably Cute". I used some K&Company DP, Martha Stewart Sunflowers, a piece of Fall garland, K&Company Border strip, chalk and distressing inks around the image, Spellbinders large Deckle Die.

Okay I am on my way to go shopping at Bass Pro Shops with my Husband and kids. He has go to have some new hunting boots and coverhauls before cold weather gets here. If not he will freeze to death while he is out hunting. Yes, he is a HUGE lover of deer hunting and so is my kids except Destiny has out grown it in her older teenage years. All she has time for is her boyfriend.

Last night her boyfriend and his band "Pretty Orphan" Played at Hard Rock Cafe' in Nashville Tennessee. It was his first live performance/Gig.

Here is a page of created of Destiny using a picture of her from 3 years ago and before she dyed her hair dark brown. Her natural hair color is light blonde. but here she has black low lights and highlights in her hair.

Here is our sketch this week.

I used some DCWV DP, purple, green and black CS, skull and crossbones buttons, Fiskars border punch.

The image was colored with copics.

Crafts and Me Challenges #56, Use Orange

It's Amy's turn to pick the challenge over at Crafts and Me Challenges. She thought she would challenge herself and all of us as well and went for a color challenge. She decided on orange as it is a color she hardly ever uses but she also thought it would fit for the season.

Challenge #56- Use Orange

I chose to make a card with a detachable bookmark.
