Child of Healing

Hi everyone.  I have a card I created for Crafts and Me Stamps to share with you.   I used this gorgeous image by Sara Burrier called "Child of Healing".  I have not been in my craft area until today but I did have a ton of digi's printed out and for the past week I have just laid around on the couch with all my printed images , 6x6 paper packs and my copics and colored up a storm.

This part is about Jazmine and her Meeting at School Yesterday.

But first I wanted to tell you that my meeting at school went pretty good yesterday. She has made a lot of improvements and she DOESN'T have any learning disabilities.  She has exactly what I have been trying to tell the school for the past 2 years.  She has ADHD.  I am taking her to the doctor tomorrow to see where we need to go from here.  My son who is 11 has ADD and has been on meds for 2.5 years.  The meds. have helped him in ways that I can't even begin to tell you. I fought it for 2 years before I finally decided I was the one who was holding him back because I didn't want him to have to be out on meds.
He only takes them when he goes to school and never on days he is out of school.  By the time he gets home the meds. are out of his system and he is back to his normal self ADD and all.  All I care about is that he is the best he can be at school and that is what the meds. do for him.  He has been a straight A student ever since he started his meds.
I hated having to put him on meds. but he was struggling so hard in school and he would get so upset.  With his meds. he pays attention in school and learns and understands everything, where he could never get it before.
I don't know if the doctor and I will decide to put Jazmine on meds. too but if it will help her be how she can and deserves to be it will be worth at least trying them.   She gets so upset every night trying to do her homework and redoing all her work she did in class that she got wrong.  She makes A LOT of careless mistakes and has a hard time understanding what is being ask of her as with her ADHD she doesn't pay attention to details or what someone is trying to teach her.  It is a HUGE struggle as she is always all over the place and it brakes me heart as I knew she has it in.. she is so smart and  always has been. If she gets something wrong she gets upset and MAD and I mean mad as she can't stand for someone to tell her she did something wrong.  I have to keep reminding her to listen and listen carefully to what I say or what she is reading before she answers.  It is so much harder fro her at school as her teacher can't sit beside her all day long and keep her focused and tell her what to do on each question.  That's what I have to do.
I work with her every night and it has helped some but she still is to where she needs to be.

It took about 6 months to test her and the last testing was done by a psychologist and took about 4 weeks  to test her as they tested her on everything.  I am glad that she doesn't have a learning disability at least if it comes to it her issues can be controls with meds.
I will let you know how her Dr. appointment goes tomorrow.

Here is my card
This is the first card I have made in a week.

The paper is from the new 2012 line of Prima papers called "Fairy Belle". I love this new paper pack.

I used a Memory Box die called "Vivienne Butterfly" and you can get it HERE at the Crafts and Me Stamps Store.  The bow was is created with some Webster's Pages netting and I added the butterfly die on top the bow. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the grey/pewter pins are from Maya Road. I added some big roses. I distressed the edges of the papers with a Distressing tool and the added some Distressing inks.

Thanks for stopping by and all your supportive and loving comments.  They have meant so much to me and have helped me in healing in more ways than you know.

Hugs:)
Angela

Angela,

I feel your pain. I know this might sound strange, have you tried a modified diet? Research Sue Dengate and Fed Up. Then the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney has an allergy unit and they developed an elimination diet which I have recently put my 3 year old grand daughter through. AMAZING results. No more 30 min screaming tantrums and other behaviour problems.

We are slowly introducing foods back into her diet and if she reacts then we know she's intolerant to that food.

Tinned spaghetti is a huge no no, we get an almost immediate hyper child if she eats that. BBQ and Tomato sauces do the same thing. Perfectly OK unless you have an intolerance to the chemicals in the foods. Some other foods slowly build up in her system so it is a very slow process to discover the danger foods for her. But I have to say. So worth the effort to have a sweet, loving, lively child instead of an obnoxious screaming demon like being, perhaps that is a slight exaggeration! You would be shocked at the additives that are in our foods and what they can do to someone who has an intolerance to them.

Sorry this is a bit long, I couldn't find an email contact for you. Hope this helps you find an alternative answer to medications.
